Installation

The first thing you should do is check that you have all libraries needed to run LeoCAD in your computer:

You'll need an OpenGL driver installed, you can check if you have one already by typing '/sbin/ldconfig -p |grep libGL', you should see libGL.so listed in the output. If you can't find it, then you can use Mesa 3D, or check your video card manufacturer's website for hardware accelerated drivers.

LeoCAD uses GTK+ 2.0 for its interface, to check if you have it installed type 'pkg-config --atleast-version=2.0 gtk+2.0', if you don't get any errors then you have GTK+ and all of its dependencies installed, otherwise you can download it from the GTK+ Homepage.

The next step is to download the LeoCAD executable and the pieces library from the files page. After the download is complete you have to extract the pieces library to any directory of your choice but if you choose a place other than "/usr/local/share/leocad/", you'll have to set the variable LEOCAD_LIB to that directory.

Now you should extract the LeoCAD precompiled binaries, to any directory and run "leocad". If you prefer to compile the executable yourself take a look at the Compiling Guide.
